Spice up your event with a Dance Demo or Showcase! Depending on your needs we can arrange to have dancers at your event to entertain your guests. Formal or informal.
Please contact us to talk about your event's date and time, possible music, dances and styles as well as other details.
Get your guests moving with a mini dance lesson! Are you planning a team building day, a corporate function or a wedding? Our instructors can teach a 30-60 minute lesson to groups of almost any size. We have fun while we teach and make it enjoyable for everyone.
For the lesson we recommend Single Step East Coast Swing. It is an upbeat, versatile and easy to learn dance which is well suited to many music styles from 50s rock and roll to contemporary with "swing." Good examples are Van Morrison's "Brown Eyed Girl" and Billy Joel's "Only The Good Die Young."
For something a little spicier, we could do Salsa or Merengue!
You can also arrange for the instructors to stay after the lesson and dance with your guests.
Suitable dance surface required. Mic and sound system may be required.
The First Dance. Traditionally the first thing you do together as a married couple. Your First Dance can be anything you want it to be! From a raunchy free-style dance complete with twerking, to a beautifully choreographed waltz, your First Dance should be a reflection of you as a couple and of the tone you are setting for your reception.
Although we cannot help you with the twerking, a Prince George Dance Connection instructor may be able to help choreograph a song of your choice. (Dependent on availability.)
Slow dance styles that are well suited to love songs include Nightclub Two-Step, Waltz, Rumba and Social Foxtrot.
Choreography can include not only learning the basic steps and style of your dance, but also many moves and patterns. You can wow your guests with your commitment and accomplishment as a couple by learning your First Dance together and presenting yourselves as a married couple to your friends and family.
Susan Hart Hellman states, "...the meaning behind the First Dance is simple: It is a loving, visual representation of the commitment the couple has made to lead and to follow one another in their new lifelong dance together."
Ideally, please allow for one to six months of regular lessons and practice, depending on your skill level, and the choreography desired. Choreography depends on the style you are going for and could be simple or complex.
There is also a big time difference between learning only wedding choreography and actually learning to dance a specific dance including wedding choreography. This needs to be considered in the time frame as well.
Please contact us with Your Song, (and maybe a list of other possibilities) and the Big Date.
Service dependent on availability of instructors and space.
Fees negotiable, starting at $20/ hour.
